The style is inline in the HTML because it avoids another HTTP before displaying the page, and that makes it more performant. This is an important feature when it rains, and people don't want to wait outside for too long.

The SVG icons are in separate files because by the point you see the SVG icons the sonnette has rung already. I also include screenshots of the beautiful style so that you don't need to test it locally to see it.
